Lake Windermere is famous throughout the world as a place of outstanding natural beauty. At just 18 miles away, a day trip here is a must. There are other lakes and numerous walks throughout the Lake District.
If you like to get your walking boots on and go for a ramble then this is the place for you. There are walks that start right from the cottage door and plenty of information available to help you plan your day!
In the immediate vicinity, St Mary’s Church dates back to Norman Times, and Devils Bridge is a very popular attraction with locals and tourists. This is an excellent base for exploring the magnificent Lake District, Ingleton Fells, the Lancashire coast and the Yorkshire Dales.
Kirkby Lonsdale is an all year round holiday destination, and has a Victorian Day and Christmas Fair.
