Walks

There are so many walks to do right from the front door. When you arrive at the cottage we have provided a comprehensive file with local walks from the door, walks a short drive away and maps for you to use.

Some of our favourites are:

Arnside and Silverdale

This is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The walk provides varied beautiful scenery and has a lovely historic tale to it passing through the “fairy steps” and then bringing you to a lovely Deer park – you will be amazed at the number of Deer that you see.

Hutton Roof Crags & Farleton Fell

Some beautiful scenery to take in on this walk. Magnificent views over the surrounding fells. Only a couple of miles from the cottage, so easy to get to.

Barbon Fell offers some great walks of differing lengths and abilities – why not combine with a visit to The Churchmouse at Barbon where you can have coffee and cake, lunches or simply buy some cheese for later? For the more adventurous

The Three Peaks (Yorkshire). Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. You don’t need to do them all in one day!
